CAD/LESS CAM

Traditional standalone CAM Systems require the use of CAD
modelling tools to create geometry to mask areas programmers
want to avoid or to achieve a desired cutting condition.
By eliminating the need to model geometry for these purposes,
FF/cam eliminates the need to purchase and train
programmers on CAD modelers or employ the use of other
departments to accomplish these time consuming operations.
Toolpath Assist
Frequently, a CAD model will require additional modeling in a CAD system for editing
in order for a CAM operator to generate optimum toolpath. With FF/cam's Toolpath Assist function, NC data is generated
automatically by simply clicking on the area of the model where you want to modify for toolpath
control. In addition to reducing the time required for generating NC data, this feature also minimizes disruption in
your company as the programmer does not have to rely on the CAD department for modifications.
Toolpath Assist has functions for:
- Creates Toolpath the Ignores Specified
- Grooves and Pockets to be Machined Later
- With Another Tool.
- Users Can Specify the Parts of the
- Model That the Tool is Not to Contact.
One Click Masking

One Click Masking allows the
user to quickly and easily cover areas of the model that are
not to be machined in any given operation. Whether a simple shape or complex shape,
with one mouse click FF/cam automatically
creates geometry to cover the desired area,
stopping the cutting tool from entering areas
that will be removed by another machining
or manufacturing process such as drilling or
EDM.
One Click Masking has functions for:
- This Function is Useful to Mask Grooves,
- Holes and Insert Pockets to be machined
- Later by EDM.
- Multiple Holes can be Masked at One Time
- and the User can Specify the Size of the Holes
- to be Masked.
- This Function Eliminates Notches in
- a Face to be Machined
- This Function Allows a Face
- to be Created Between Two Edges.
